The answer is: NOTHING. We wouldn't have daylight any more but the earth would continue in its orbit as if nothing had happened. Since this black hole would have the same mass and distance from us as the real sun, the gravity between the sun and earth would not change. It's a common misconception that a black hole would suck us in. But the gravity around black holes is not weird--it's just terrifically strong since you can get so close to its total mass. Black hole gravity follows the same rules of mass and distance as does everything else in the universe. |
